Temperament

My heart tends to dim

into a mellow grey

for each moment

That you miss from me.

I have spent days

with the lover of my dreams, lakeside

under all the phases of the sky

By rocks on a sunset

in the sand on a full moon

right beside a crackling fire

I have overlapping memories of the preludes we have collected,

But I swear to every God, I recall how each made us feel.

Away, alone, blinded by love and all her ways!

Like the memoirs of a king and his empress

Last night,

When dusk broke into dawn,

thinly vailed like the space between us

Skins welded tight by our lust

craddled into one inseparable being

With no care for the world,

I learned to love you deeper!
